Thanks for the suggestion, although it didn't work for me, so I ended up using the object dock application which can be backed up.

How to restore toolbar position
I have a dual monitor set up with a custom toolbar located on the non-primary monitor. If I remote in, the toolbar gets moved to the primary monitor and I have to manually set it up again on the second monitor. Is there a way to save the toolbar position and restore it?

I'm not aware of any way around this issue. I have noticed this problem as well when I connect from a single monitor to a dual. Microsoft seems to have released a more updated version of remote desktop that can handle dual monitor setups (so you can use both). See if it's of any help:
