Hello there experts,
I have had a problem for over a year that i thought i had resolved by building a new computer, until today. I have a Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless gaming receiver for Windows, a small USB device that alllows the user to connect their Xbox 360 wireless game pad to their PC >>
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360wirelessgamingreceiver/However when i instal the receiver using the install driver on disc that came with teh hardware or an older French driver i have managed to locate on the internet, it crashes all my other usb devices. That said, i can restart the PC and i gain my mouse functionality back but when i plug in my WACOM tablet into any USB port i lose mouse functionality again until i restart the pc without the tablet physically connected to the computer.
The problem lies with teh gaming receiver driver because before it was installed my mouse and WACOM tablet could live side-by-side in complete harmony with each other on the pc, allowing me to use both at the same time and freely plug/unplug devices without losing any functionality. Today i decided to install my gaming receiver on my newly built PC and all the problems started again!
Even after uninstalling the gaming receiver driver from add/remove programs the problem with my WACOM tablet persisted (ie. when i plugged it into the pc my mouse would stop working even if i unplugged the wacom, it made no difference to the mouse). I was only able to save my USB controller settings by using system restore adn the PC is now back at square 1.
If it helps, the gaming receiver would work correctly when it was installed (ie i could use my game controller and see it working in control panel>game controllers window, but of course no other USB devices inc. my mouse would work).
This is a conflict issue. I am unsure how to resolve as my knowledge of XP isn't that in depth, though with soem direction i'm sure i can deal with it.
Please help this has gone on for too long and was also one of the reason why i built a whole new system! Many thanks in advanced.
