I have a computer with an MSI K7N2 motherboard, AMD Athlon processor, 1 GB DDR Memory, Soundblaster audiocard, Nvidia Geforce MX400 Video AGP. I can load Windows XP Professional onto the hard drive, set completely up and load drivers for motherboard and upon the first bootup into service it gives me the message of Disk Boot Failure. I have tried two different hard drives from two different manufacturers. The Motherboard sees the hard drives each time. The second disk I tried it did not make it to the point where I could load the drivers. I am perplexed at this problem. If the IDE cables were the problem, then why did it have the ability to transfer files between the CD Rom and the HDD? The same goes for the motherboard and the HDD's. I do not know what else to change out. The XP Pro CD is a known good working copy. Does anyone have any ideas?
