I am using an original XP Pro SP2 disk, this disk installed successfully on a coupl eof machines including this one on the single raptor BEFORE I created a RAID0 array made up of TWO Raptors.
I am attempting to install XP Pro SP2 on a RAID0 array of 2 x WD Raptors
Install proceeds perfectly, hitting F6 to load all raid drivers where needed.
XP Pro setup loads and finds the Raid0 array and formats it using NTFS
XP Pro copies all setup files happily and restarts pc
XP Pro starts and setup continues, then pauses asking for a folder 'ASMS' and the usual gui box,
NO drive letter is given for the location of the file it is looking for:
GLOBALROOT\DEVICE\CDROM0\I
386
I have tried:
SHIFT F10 - and have cycled all the letters of the alphabet to find the CD Rom, to no avail. My other SATA drives have been found as well as the floppy but NOT the cd rom.
I have tried the recomended MS approach:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/311755None of these have worked.
It would appear that for some reason, despite finding my cd drive to startup the original install and copy all the files from it is no longer able to find it...
I have tried three other Windows XP SP2 disks all to no avail....
Rather fraught at the moment...
