i get this error message when insalling window xp home edition on a friends pc. they have a partitioned drive if that makes a difference

Tags: an error has been encoubtered that prevents setup from continuing, one of the components that windows needs to contiunue set up could not be installed, the data is invalid., in the set up log it says :sxs.dll:syntax error in manifest or policy file E:\1386\asns\10\msft\windows\gdiplus\gdiplus.man on line 4

when re installing window xp home edition i get the following error message

an error has been encountered that prevents set up from continuing

one of the components that windows need to continue set up could not be installed

the data is invalled

press ok to view log file.

log file says:

sxs.dll:syntaz error in manifest or policy file
e:\1386\asms\10\msft\windows\gdiplus\gdiplus.man on line 4Start Free Trial
