I should have clarified that this wasn't cascaded windows either. It was one window screen with a showcase of all open documents.

Browse All TopicsI accidentally pushed something on my keyboard that allowed me to view all my open pdf and Word documents on one screen. This feature then allowed me to select the one I want to toggle to with my mouse.
How did this happen? I've never seen this before.
This wasn't like alt+tab. This was a single full screen mode with snapshots of each of my documents.

Unless your video driver has something special, there's no other way I'm aware without an application.
You could right click on your desktop and see if you have an option for your display. A likely candidate would be an Nvidia or ATI control panel. There are other applications out there, something like Scalable Fabric. But I have a feeling this is a feature of your display adapter.
You might also try Windows Power Toys: Virtual Desktop Manager
"Manage up to 4 desktops from the Windows taskbar. You can choose a different background for each desktop and run different applications on different desktops. Right click on the taskbar, click toolbars, and then click "Desktop Manager."
