Browse All Topicshello there, well i booted up the comp and at the log on screen i get some message pop up saying summat about a corrupt windows file, i just click ok and log in, but now that message showing up in a bubble at my task bar. i took a screen shot. so clicky the link and have a look.

I missed the snap which you attached. Yeah you need to turn off System restore if you are not using it. System restore is not useful until you make more changes in system frequently by installling applications and modification of other configuration.You can disable system restore from services.msc from run.Also we save from memory also.

I would disagree to permanently turn off System Restore, it's a useful feature of XP/ME. System Restore has helped me many times, it's actually very useful for when something goes wrong and nothing else you can do to fix, it's always good to know that it's there when you need it.
