I can access the internet with no issue but cannot access folders form my laptop to desktop, or desktop to shared folders on the laptop.
So far i've swapped my router with a seperate one but no change at all, reflashed firmware on the router with no change. TO use my shared printers I must use the desktop which is directly ocnnected to the printers. I have a professional printer connected by ethernet which ocnnected directly to the router, and I had to connect by USB directly to the laptop to finish a print job.
Thank You for any help,

That's odd, the problem seems to be on your desktop. for some reason it can not resolve computername.
Can you try the follow?
1. start > run > \\<ip of dog house>\<share> <-- le me know if this is successful
2. start > run > services.msc. check the "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper" is set to automatic and enabled.
3. start > run > cmd > ipconfig /flushdns
4. still in command prompt, type netsh interface ip reset c:\reset.log
5. still in command prompt, type netsh winsock reset
6. restart the computer
7. start > run > notepad "%windir%\system32\drivers
check if DogHouse is not pointing to 127.0.0.1
if DogHouse is not in there. enter a new line:
<ip address of doghouse> DogHouse
save file & exit. Restart pc.
Under the run command it could not find the network drive, but my sharing hand is right under it, and TCP/IP netbios is running fine in automatic. Flushing the DNS was no go. I'm trying the other steps as I type....
And the winsock reset cleared things up. Apparently it was the issue. I've reset winsock a couple times with other systems but anytime I need to do it I keep forgetting the command.
Thanks again for your help...
