Can I run scheduled tasks without a user being logged in?

Does a user have to be logged in for scheduled tasks to run?  For example, I have a scheduled task on the web server that backs up the IIS metabase and copies that along with the entire documents directory to another drive on the network.  One can't have too many backups, right?

Anyway, to make that work, I have to leave a user logged into the web server all the time.  In the interest of getting the best possible performance from the machine, I'd rather just run the server with no user logged in.  I think that means my scheduled task won't run.

Am I right?  Is there a way to schedule tasks to run when no one is logged in?

I haven't tested it.  I was just curious.  I've attached a screen shot.  The task runs as an administrator, so I'm guessing from what you guys tell me, it will work okay.

I'll test one after lunch for sure.

Awesome.  I've set a test job to run and logged out.  Now I'm waiting a few minutes to log back in and see if it worked.
