Browse All TopicsI work for an engineering firm, and all users have dual monitor configurations. All clients run XP SP3 and have either Nvidia GeForce or Quadro video cards. We are heavily reliant on Nvidia's nView Desktop manager as far as the title bar buttons go. This makes it incredibly easy to move a windows over to the other monitor or expand a window to both monitors. As of the last two driver updates for the GeForce series cards, it looks like nView is now broken. When Desktop Manager is enabled and the Title Bar Buttons are turned on, ANY window that you have minimized to the taskbar gets stuck and the only way to open/maximize that window is to right-click and select send to Monitor 1 or Monitor 2. This is happening on quite a few machines here and it is not isolated to just one. I have tried selectively disabling certain features of the toolbar buttons such as nViw Options and Collapse to title bar, but the problem still remains.
Is there a fix for this or a configuration change that resolves these issues? I do remember reading that nVidia plans on doing away with the nView Desktop Manager in Vista and Windows 7- and I was wondering what they expect people to do who have a dual monitor configuration. If this is not fixable, is there a replacement (free) third part software alternative?
