Question

How to get rid of a virus which prevents me to open control panel and foders ?

i accidentally downloaded  a file and got attacked .
 file name : Movie.Titanic.(1997).exe
 location : ***Direct link to a malicious file removed by rpggamergirl, ZA/PE***

now when i click my compter or any folder or control panel  it does not open rather it opens IE with this page

and when i open any website it opens the above site .

plz any body help me.

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop, check for the tool's Updates before running a scan.

Or, use Combofix as already suggested and attach the log here so we can check to make sure it's clean.

Hi,

Viruses /Trojans normally starts with Windows and so it has to be in "Startup Menu", let's get in the "System Configuration Utility"  - - Start > Run > Msconfig > Startup    . . .  Please take a snap shot pf that window & attach it over here so we tell where the virus is.
