Drivers for Windows XP on a HP Pavilion DV6700

I have a HP Pavilion DV6700 laptop (model: DV6704nr) that had Windows Vista factory installed. I recently installed Windows XP on the D drive, which I now realize was a mistake, since I cannot log into Vista right now.  I cannot use VistaBootPro to access the Vista OS because I cannot get online at all since I am missing many of the drivers I need for XP to run correctly.  In checking my problem devices through the system information menu in windows, there are 11 drivers that I need for XP. Where and how can I find these drivers so I can get my laptop back online and properly set-up a dual boot system? Any help[ would be much appreciated. Thank-you

If you are still missing drivers after you try the links listed above, do this:

Right click on My Computer. Select Manage. Select Device Manager. In the right-hand window, choose a device that shows as Unknown or has a Yellow Exclamation mark. Click on the + next to it to expand on it. Right-click on it. Select Properties. Go to the Details tab. Select Device Instance Id. Click once on the string that looks like this: PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1229&SUBSYS_00708086&REV_10\4&25296D99&0&50F0

Press Ctrl-C to copy the string and Ctrl-V to paste it into a message here.

Do this for each device for which you still need drivers.

Skywalker39 sended you a link for 6700 series but with Intel processor. If your model is AMD, you need other drivers. Your DV6704nr is AMD and nvidia graphics?

A quick way is to open System Information.  Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Information. Click on "components" and highlight "problem devices". Any hardware device with a driver problem will be listed here. Make a note of the PNP Device ID line of the entry. It will contain a Vendor number and a Device number (VEN. . . . DEV. . . .)
both four digits long.
Look up those numbers here:

http://www.pcidatabase.com/index.php

This will tell you the manufacturer and the chip number.  First try the manufacturer's website.  If no joy there, try a driver database like Driverguide:

That's correct Kechka, the author didn't say Intel or AMD, I gave a Intel like first, if AMD is needed I'll try to provide that.

If it's AMD it's a 630a chipset
(don't use the 630i or you will driver yourself nuts with the ethernet issues)
