I do at times need to replicate the settings suchas a Outlook and Desktop Items to another computer or same computer and now a different user ....
i have found the folders with the desktop items, the Quicklaunch Items, pst files, and address books, as well as favorites ....
But where are the following files:
Outlook e-mail configuration (POP/STMP etc) so i don't have to retype all to the new user account.
I have found dektop items and QuickLaunch items, but where are the arrangement settings ? The order/position in which they appear on the desktop and the Quicklaunch bar ?
I am not sure but I don't think I should run the files/settings transfer wizard ... just need to know the locations of those items listed above ...

No ... The files I mentioned for Outlook I was able to transfer are localed in the Application Data and the Local Settings/Application data Folders ...
Certainly the config file is not there and neither are the order/position of desktop items or Quick Launch Order.
I copied both Microsoft folders from the old user account to the new user account and the Outlook configuration 9e-mail account setting such as POP/SMTP settings are not there )

Outlook is profile dependent, but outside of Outlook, everything else can be done.
Set up a userid (A) (not Administrator) and set up the user interface the way you wish. Set up all applications including basic settings for Outlook, Word and all else. Restart as Adminstrator and copy the other profile (A) to the default profile (My Computer -> Properties -> Advanced -> Profiles). As you work through the copy process, permit it to Everyone.
Now when a user signs on with a new userid, they will get the look of the default profile. Very, very handy. ... Thinkpads_User
