The LAN works, but the audio does not.  Also most importantly, I need the drivers that give the touch capability.

Hi,
You posted in the XP Section where I only found drivers for Vista :

Dlan, That is kind of my problem... HP does not support XP for this model, by I need drivers for XP.
Perhaps someone can recommend a software that will help detect the drivers i need?
I REALLY need the driver to get the touch feature working.
It's very possible the driver doesn't exist for XP. If you have an app that won't run in Vista, try the windows 7 rc1 and its xp mode.

I knowit is your problem but that driver doesn't exist for xp.
windows 7 is a good solution compared to vista but careful, windows xp mode is not a way of emulating windows xp, it allows to virtualize windows xp applications that would not be compatible with 7 in order to make them work.
All apps and drivers designed for vista should normally work properly on 7

I resolved it myself!  I gave 100 points to the first guy who copied and pasted some useful info from a thread on hp's site that i had already found.  At least it was some effort.

stconair, I'm having some issues with the drivers, I understand the ehome drivers are bundled into media center ed, but I'm not worried about that, I've been stuck trying to get audio working. Touch drivers were good off the bat, but that's because I switched it to HID compliant mouse mode before even installing xp.

I've got XP VLK with SP3 and I can NOT get UAA drivers to install correctly so I can put Soundmax HD audio drivers on. When installed the drivers give me a Code 10 error in device manager (device couldn't start due to faulty drivers.
I think the hang-up is the SP3 that's bundled into my VLK disk.  I've only heard problems with people that have SP3 installed after locating all the drivers!
