hta file open problem

No hta file is opening in my Windows XP pc. I can not understand why? Can anyone suggest?

Apparently the association for .hta don't exist. Please read this in order to fix this!

can you explain the program which produced .hta file?
some .hta files are executables. One way is to change the file extension from .hta to .htm and then try to open this file using Internet Exploere.
(BE WARE: DO THIS ONLY IF YOU TRUST THE SOURCE OF THE FILE)

the same problem is arising for me. i have tried the above mentioned solution but the no hta file is opening.

Hi,

To check if this has to do with file type associations:

Click Start, Run. Type:

mshta.exe "res://nusrmgr.cpl/nusrmgr.hta"

Press ENTER.

Does User Accounts apploet (a .hta module) open correctly?

Then it means that the .hta association is broken somehow. Use the .hta fix from Doug's site here:

1. Download FileExtInfo.zip from here:
    http://windowsxp.mvps.org/fileextinfo.htm

2. Unzip the utility and extract the files to Desktop.
3. Double-click "FileExtInfo.exe" to run it.
4. Select [.HTA] from the list box
5. Click "View file association report"
6. Copy the contents of the report and include it in your reply.
