Also you might reinstall SP3 after the chipset drivers.

Question
NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller
I have a fairly new within the last year custom built PC for a client that has a sudden problem with an internally installed flash card reader port. In Device Mgr it shows me 2 items with exclamation points, "NEC PCI to USB Open Host Controller". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling those 2. I've tried uninstalled and reinstalling ALL USBs, hoping that would help to line them up. No good.
I looked this issue up on Microsoft's website and apparently these USB compatability issues should have been solved way back in SP1 with a fix?
Why is this happening? Weird. Why won't it just sense and install. This USB stuff should be a no-brainer!!

Try upgrading your ChipSet drivers. That should resolve alot of USB problems....
And just for giggles, might wanna reinstall this reader on another PC to test....
