Unable to Install MS Update KB951847 .Net Framework

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86

Fails to install and when I review update hisotry it advises uninstalling.  It does not show in the add/remove on control panel.

I would try running the windows installer cleanup utility it is possible that you may have a half complete/ half failed installation of the product.

If you can manually uninstall them all from ARP, that would be ideal. Uninstall them newest to oldest, and then retry the 3.5. They should be cumulative....

I used the automated cleanup tool after running the installer cleanup utility.  All appears to be ok now!
