No worries, no troubles.
Runs fast like XP and 8 years younger.

HP does not support installing XP with this model so there are no XP drivers on their site. Is it still possible to do this? I'm not sure if there is anyone else that writes XP drivers for this machine.

look in the device manager, and make a note of all your device drivers
then look on the net for XP drivers for them
then install xp + the drivers
this may help for identifying the drivers :

you can also use services like driver magic, or driver detective to find the xp drivers...
Video = Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
Chipset = Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility
Card Reader = HP JMicron Card Reader Driver
Wireless = Intel Pro Wireless
That should get you started.
always better to go forward than back in doing OS upgrades, Win 7 can use most Vista drivers, but if HP do not do XP drivers for the chipset, components etc.....you could try the chip manufacturer like Intel, or Realtek etc.....your biggest issue will be Ethernet/wireless and Bluetooth drivers and control software, those are very tricky to get right, if you do not have the drivers for the OS.

Hi, you can try, but the best case that can happen is that XP will recognize MOST of the hardware and that it will work using it's legacy drivers. The only thing that HP makes for XP for that laptop is the HP Quick Launch Buttons application.
The manufacturer is the ultimate location for drivers and software for your computer. I would recommend that for best functionality you keep Vista on it, otherwise most of the functionality will be disabled (sometimes purposefully).
