If you are able to boot from a floppy, either internal or external usb, then there is a tool you can use called PTEdit. This tool will allow you to change the file type of the partition back to NTFS (if that is what it was), from RAW.

Link with some instructions here:

http://www.pcguide.com/vb/showthread.php?t=52472

This program allows you to change the drive "type". It is imperative that you are certain
that you are working on the correct drive. You can choose drives at the top
of the program window. One you have chosen the correct drive you can click
the mouse on the "type" box at the bottom. Look for the file system that you
KNOW was being used. There are many choices. Choose the correct file system
and follow the instructions from there.

NOTE: If you choose the wrong file system, and commit the change, you WILL
corrupt any information that is on the drive. This is absolute and
irrevocable!

I should also add that you will need to create a DOS Floppy boot disk. You can get one from www.bootdisk.com for free also.

PTedit is the program that you will use to change the drive. It must run in DOS. The easiest way is to make a DOS Boot Disk. It can be a windows 98 boot disk. That is the easiest one to make. Just download the file at bootdisk.com and rtun it to create the boot floppy.
