Have a linux laptop that had Vista Home new two days ago. Installed linux, worked fine but decided to go back to XP pro.
Tried installing with XP Pro, 2000 and Small Business Server 2003. Am able to boot from legit install CD's. After loading drivers etc. the next step is to start windows and immediately afterwards I get the IBD BSOD.
so then I wiped the 320gb drive with killdisk to all 000000's.
try to reinstall... same problem.
I'm thinking there might be something somehow leftover. Reinstalling linux btw runs smoothly but I want to put XP back on and here we go with the BSOD.
So Question, any ideas here? I highly doubt the hdd is faulty.
Also, how about an iso, like a live cd that will boot into anything and provide for disk partition management, create edit and then try install from there....
thanks in advance!!
