Check the IP configuration to see if it is hard coded or using DHCP.
Start, Run, {type} ncpa.cpl {press enter}
Right-click your local area network connection and choose properties.
Double-click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Are the settings set to Obtain automatically (for IP and DNS)?
If they are, please do the following:
Start, Run, {type} cmd {press enter}
{type} netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

are you able to ping gateway/dns?
