you mean reboot and run windows in safe mode? No, I have not tried that. I didn't have to do that on the first XP computer I tried this on.

Browse All TopicsI have a web application running in IE7 and IE8 only, on a local firewalled intranet that launches a local EXE using the shell and ActiveX. Works just fine.
To rid the browser of that info bar that warns of the security risk, I found instructions that say to load the group policy editor (gpedit.msc) and to locate:
Computer Configuration
- Administrative Templates
- Windows Components
- Internet Explorer
and then you enable the "Turn off Security Settings Check Feature"
Works perfectly. Problem is, I just went to do the same steps on another XP Pro box, logged in with administrator account, and the "Internet Explorer" entry is not listed under Windows Components.
Any ideas?
