Question

Increasing/Amplifying Sound Volume on Laptops

Asked by: taz011

Is there anyway to increase/amplify the sound volume on a laptop?  There are so many laptops which have such a low sound volume even if you set them at the highest level.  So, I was wondering if there is anyway to increase the volume through installing some software, or changing some configuration.

I don't mind using a hardware to do so either as long as the hardware is tiny and not physically intrusive, such as for example a tiny USB device.

Which is the Laptop Model are you using  ?

Are you installing the Vendor Provided Driver  ?

Yes, you can use external USB Speaker for extra Sound OR may a Headphone, if it is office which will not disturb others too.

You can either have Bluetooth Headset too

Yeah unfortunately the only option I know of is getting external speakers. The internal speakers cannot get anymore power than they are already getting.

External speakers are in general are relatively large in size; I was looking for something that in size is comparable to a flash memory stick.  I don't mind earphones (I don't like headsets either because of the size), but only a few models have volume control, and almost all of those which have volume control are missing other features.  For example if I can find a earphone that has a volume control, and hook behind the ear to secure it in position, then I'd go for that for sure.

Do the blue-tooth ones come with volume control?  And don't you have to constantly change batteries on those?

If the volume control is missing, make sure that audio driver is installed on the machine or not, you can confirm that from Device manager

To show sound control panel, follow the below

Click Start -> Settings -> Control panel
Double click "Multimedia"
On Audio Tab click "show volume control on the taskbar" checkbox.
Click "OK" button.

oh and make sure to check all the levels. If you do have the volume in the taskbar right click it. Make sure Wave output or another level is not set low.
