Startup batch to set IP or other properties of the network card

Hi,

I am trying to create batch file:

@echo off
netsh interface ip set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" source=dhcp register=none

all it does opens the batch screen and sits there,

If i turn echo on

Shows same line applying constantly and never ends.

Any suggestions,

Actually this endles loop happens only on Windows 7,
winXP seems to be ok.

try the same command but with this:

netsh interface ipv4 set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" source=dhcp register=none

Try creating batch file, and doubleclicking it,

@echo on
netsh interface ip set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" source=dhcp register=none

Try creating variables:


@ECHO OFF 
Set wireNet="Wireless Network Connection" 
netsh int ip set dns name = %wireNet% source = dhcp register = none

maybe something I am doing wrong, (should be pretty simple with batch files)

Yes, it works just fine for me.

Try another user profile on your computer.  It may be something with the local login with those machines or do a runas with another user acct.

Try something just after the netsh line, like notepad.exe

so:
netsh interface ip set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" source=dhcp register=none
notepad.exe

Or
netsh interface ip set dns name="Wireless Network Connection" source=dhcp register=none
exit

try running the commands individually from the command line (w/ admin rights) what error message are you getting?

Tried with exit and notepad.exe

If i run the commands individualy works absolutely fine.  

Same thing happends to all workstations, XP, 7, and Vistas

while it is running does the dos prompt window say Inactive?

Forgot to mentioned that this only happens if I assign batch file to my name then if i reboot it keeps on going and going.

If i double click now it works fine, it was Win 7 problem, Win XP worked fine.
