Local Knowledgebase Software

I am in search for a decent KB software package that will allow me to install either on Server 2003 or XP/Vista system. I want to track all of our problems with our computers, software, VOIP Phones, Remote locations, etc. and put in the solutions I have used to correct the problem. This software needs to have search capabilities via tags I apply to each KB I create.

Does anyone know of one or actually uses one that is fairly user friendly and not overly expensive?

You can use QPulse. You can see more information from this website:

The main program is installed on a 2003server. The client program is installed on the PC's of the client. The client program connects to the server to get the information.

You can let the program send emails to the corresponding people.

You can download SharePoint services from Microsoft and install on your server for free. Once installed you can download the templates package, also for free, and use it to create a fantastic knowledgebase and bug system (and many more). The benefits to this is that it'll integrate perfectly into your current setup and things like security are all taken care of using the same credentials your users currently use :-)
