What is the problem you are experiencing?

If you are finding various small glitches occuring whilst using windows, you can try re-registering your DLL files by following out the below command:

Start|Run|and enter "regsvr32 /i shell32.dll". An alternative would be to re-install the latest service pack.

go to the control panel, go to RUN. Type in CMD a black box should pop up. In that black box, type in
sfc /scannow. Make sure to have your windows CD ready. It will do a check of your windows files and reinstall all damaged or missing ones.  Let me know how that works out for you

reinstalling the most recent service pack should do it

and so should Start.. Run.. sfc /scannow

In the absence of malware (which you certainly should check) a "generic" answer would be
