Way of adding address bar back to the Windows taskbar (refer to screenshot).

I am looking for a way of adding address bar back to the Windows taskbar (refer to screenshot).

I currently have Windows XP SP 3 installed and I no longer have the option of adding the address bar back to my Windows taskbar (located at the very bottom of the Windows screen).

In other installations of Windows (those with Service Pack 2 or below) I am able to have an Address bar located in my taskbar that I am then able to type Windows Explorer and internet URL web addresses into.

How can I get my address bar back? (Refer to screenshot # 2, which had this address bar located in the Windows Taskbar).

Note that address input in taskbar is removed officially since XP SP3.

You have tried it out one by one.  As every PC may have some variation in settings.

Hi,

Officialy microsoft already announced that they have removed the address bar in XP SP3.

But there is a tricky way to make it available by copying an browseui.dll file from any machine having Windows XP SP2 to Windows XP SP3 machine.

1. Start the system in SafeMode.
2. Kill the explorer.exe process.
3. Simply replace browseui.dll from Windows XP SP2 to Windows XPSP3 PC in your windows/system32
4. Now restart the system in normal mode, you can now add this address task bar.

Another solution rather than bringing back the SP-2 version of browseui.dll is to use a 3rd party utility in place of the old Address Bar in the Windows Taskbar, like:
