windows 7 64 bit OS - does not make sense to me

Is it right that if you buy windows 7 you can install the 32 bit or 64 bit version (both in the pack)

However - if that is true, which cpu and motherboard do you get. For a true 64 bit setup you need the 64bit cpu and 64 bit motherboard (right).

So you have to make a choice.

If you have a 32bit cpu and are running 64 bit OS - what is the point - is there actually an advantage to that, as that is the only way I can think you can run 64 bit on a home / domestic type computer claiming to be 64 bit
