Please analyse XP minidump

My colleague uses a Lenovo laptop, running Windows XP. He got a BSOD today. He's also gotten others in the past, but not often or frequent. It usually happens when he's copying large files.

BSOD's are usually caused from bad/incompatible drivers, corrupt windows file, bad RAM bad sectors on a hard drive or in some cases a virus (rare).

Have you checked the event viewer to pin down what is actually causing this issue?

Go to Start=>Control Panel
Open System Properties.
When System Properties appears, click the Advanced tab.
Under Startup and Recovery click Settings.
Uncheck Automatically restart under System Failure.
Click OK.

next time it happens it will give us an error (the one in the blue screen). Please record this error for us, and write it here. This will allow us to find the course.

Hey bobox00,

Might help if you attach the screendump file itself!  If it's a bsod message, you will need to write down the message, type it out and attach the file.  Most of these problems you describe are caused by a) insufficient RAM or 2) malware.  Keen to see your file.

Here's the minidump file. I have rename it to .txt so that I can attach it here. pls rename it to .dmp before analyzing. Thanks.

From looking into your dump file seems there is a problem with ibmfilter.sys

look if this solves your problem

Seems the rescue and recovery software gives some trouble, so update to the latest version
If you don't use this software, please post here so we can look further into this.
