Internet Explorer 7 is our default browser. I need a Policy or registry hack to keep my end users from changing the default browser. We are running Windows XP with Service pack 3 on these laptop and desktops. Some of my users have Hardware and need to access Web sites using Google Chrome or Firefox. The vendor will only provide support for the Hardware if we are using Firefox or Google Chrome to access the web sites. We are being told that the hardware and tracking will only work properly under these browser and will not work with IE. I want to allow my users to use these other browsers but keep them from changing IE as there default Browser. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You

Actually none of the solutions worked for me. I assigned points to hkunnana and they should of been asigned to Farazhkhan as his solution does have some potential. Also to answer Billy Howard my users are not able to install any apps and these systems are not on a domain. Some will connect to a LAN others will be using Aircards with multiple Browsers installed and I need for IE to always be the default. Thank You.

Hi,
There is a registry key which can be downloaded from http://windowsxp.mvps.org/
This registry changes the default browser to IE, you can execute it on startup on each PC through batach file, so whenevert users logs in their default browser will always be IE.
If you have a domain environment then you can create your custom ADM from this registry key which will force all users to set IE as their default browser automatically.
