Asked by QC20N in Windows XP Operating System
Can anyone explain why microsoft recommended to use 1.5 times the RAM as the minimum size and 3 times that figure for the maximum size for the pagefile? for an exampel. I have 2 Gb of RAM. Then my minimum pagefile size is: 3072 Mb and my maximum pagefile size is: 9216.
But if I let the system manged the size. It seems that the recommended size is 3055 Mb.
I have this idea that if you upgrade your computer with more RAM you need to decrease the pagefile, well the Windows XP will do the nessesary task to decrease the pagefile.
