Open control panel, then Sounds and Audio Devices
Make sure there is a check in "Show volume control in taskbar"
You can then click on it once in the taskbar and use the slider to control the volume.
Also, look at the symbols on your keyboard. You should have speaker symbols on two of the keys, uysually in blue. Pressing the Fn key along with either of the sysmbols will raise or lower the volume.
