Cisco IP Communicator 7.0.1.0 on Windows XP Black Screen Issue

Never seen this problem before.

We have a remote office where everyone uses softphones using Cisco IP communicator.  All other phones have installed correctly previously.  This means that there are no routing issues to the CM server.

However, on this one PC we installed the softphone and when we run it we get the software showing with just a black screen.  The PC can tracert and ping the CM server and vice versa.  The SEP code is showing in CM.

There are no entries in the Hosts file.

When you dial the number of the softphone it goes straight to VM.

So I am completely at a loss!!

All help greatly appreciated.

Sounds like something peculiar to that PC. Have you tried uninstalling CIPC and re-installing a newer version? I'm using 7.0.3.0 without issues.

The PC has just been fully reinstalled with XP and CIPC.
It has worked on this PC before.
It is very odd indeed.
I may have to go through the whole rebuild scenario again if no-one has any other ideas :o(
Here's hoping!

Very Close!
It was a registry error related to the video display.

Deleted the affected keys and reinstalled.  Job done!

I'm having the same problem...  If you could clarify a few quick questions, it would help me out a lot!  Did you see a particular error?  Do you happen to remember which registry keys you changed/deleted?  When you say you reinstalled, did you mean you reinstalled the CIPC or the video driver?
which registry entry did you delete  plz help
Please respond to my question as soosn as possible
