Win XP question - Internet connection sharing?

I am in Tokyo (unlucky enough to move here recently) and I am using Flets internet service. Basically I can use only one computer, which connects to the Flets network using a PPOE connection. The Flets modem has only 1 network jack.

I would like to share my Windows Xp desktop with another windows desktop. I have only 1 network card. Any easy way to do this?

Buy a 2nd  network card and share that way?

Need help!

Hi TheHappyTech,

The short answer is yes you'll need a 2nd network card on the host pc to link to the 2nd pc.

The other option is to get an inexpensive router to get the Flets modem to connect to, probably will give you less headaches than setting up ICS.

Thanks,

Joce

you should check whether the mainboard of your computers hasn't a built-in network chip already. in my opinion all mainboards younger than ten years would have it, some even have two.

The 2nd Nic was the easiest way to do it.
