Windows XP Locally Stored Profile Move
I have a Windows XP machine with three different users, each of which has a locally stored profile. Each user logs into the domain (not logging in locally) at start up.
I am moving to a new Win2k8 domain and therefore I need to move each user's profile to the new domain.
I know I need to create the users on the new domain, but how do I copy their profiles as they currently exist on the Windows XP machine and then load them so that they work with the new domain? I'm not looking to setup roaming profiles - I still want the user profiles to be stored locally.

Do I need to copy the user's profile to a local user first?
"To Migrate Local Profiles to Domain Profiles " or " to copy the local profile." then you not required to copy profile.
It's good to take backup of your profile before migrate if in case anything happen then you can recover your data from backup copy.

1) Copy the user's profile to a newly created local user on the machine
2) Use the third link in the first post to migrate the local profile to a domain profile?
