Installing Windows XP on Intel D54250WYK
I have an Intel NUC D54250WYK that I'd like to install Windows XP. Intel does not support XP on this computer, but there are XP drivers for other computers running the QS77 Chipset like this computer.
I downloaded the F6 Floppy AHCI drivers to specify during setup, and chose the "Intel Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller", but Windows XP Installation still does not recognize the hard drive.
There is no IDE/Legacy controller option in the UEFI options.
Anyone have ideas to get XP running on this computer?

But does it really has to be Windows XP? It will not receive any securityupdates anymore and sooner or later also anti virus software and current up to date browsers/plugins will not run on it anymore.

Slipstream the DriverPacks http://driverpacks.net/ into your installation. That will give you ALL of the current drivers available for Windows XP.
Whether it is possible or not to install XP on this board I don't know. This page http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-034034.htm indicates there isn't any OS support for XP but that doesn't mean it can't be done.
What does F2 to get into the BIOS and then F9 give you? I'm looking at http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-033935.htm where they configure the BIOS for legacy and AHCI support.

The plan was to get the OS to multi-boot with Windows 7, as there's some software needed that only works with XP.
There is a legacy boot option in the BIOS, which is for non-UEFI boot. Running the SATA controller in IDE mode is sometimes called Legacy mode, which is what I was referring to in the original post.
I find XP installations often work with USB Floppy Drives, but it depends on the motherboard and the USB drive itself. In this case, the Windows Installation was detecting the USB Floppy Drive, and would load Intel's drivers from the floppy, but the hard drive was still not detected.

Thanks for the update and good luck with the machine. I keep some vintage XP machines on my Windows 8 host in case I need them.
Here is an explanation on how to perform the slipstreaming procedure. The tutorial is for Service pack3 but the tools also can incorporate drivers and normal patches/hotfixes too.
