How do i create a home networking via wireles on my pc

I just can't fathom how to do this, so over to you guys.

I have the following:

A Wireless Modem router - with the wireless turned off (don't ask but I'm not allowed to use the modems wireless).

I have Computer1 connected to the router via ethernet. Computer1 has a wireless device and running Vista

Computer2 also has a wireless device and running XP.

Now I would have thought that I can make my Computer1 transmit a wireless connection to a) let my computer2 also use the internet, and b) share files between Computer 1 and 2.

As a bonus I would also like my itouch to connect to the wireless being transmitted by computer1 to also access the internet.

Is this actually possible because I just can't seem to get this working. I have set both PC's to be on the same workgroup,
