CDROM Drive stubborness

Using Windows2000 Professional.  PC has a clone CDROM Drive and an HP CDRW Drive.  PC Was on WindowsMe and upgraded to Windows2000.  CDROM Drives worked fine after upgrade... User did "something", but doesnt remember what...They think they tried to install the drivers for the HP CDROM drive even though it was working fine. Nothing shows up in "Add/Remove Program" list. Now, in Device manager, both CDROM drives show Yellow Exclamation marks over them.  They do not show up in My Computer.  They have been uninstalled and windows reinstalls them after rebooting, but they still come up with the Yellow exclamation marks and do not show up in My Computer.  Also did "regedit" and removed all references to CDROM drives and drivers... didnt help.Start Free Trial
