I accidentally partitioned my computer's hard drive and now I cannot undo it- I tried using FDISK to delete the partition.

Well, in the beginning I was having problems getting my ethernet card to work so I figured if I tried my recovery disk, the only disk that was with my laptop,(weird thing though too- I have Windows ME on my laptop but the disk is Windows 98) I might be able to fix the problem. However when I put the CD into my CD-Rom and restarted the computer it prompted me to restore to factory settings or make a user backup. So I decided to do the user backup but it was too slow so, like a dummy, simply removed the disk without allowing it to finish. At that point my computer had setup a partition because it thought I was trying to install windows 98 as well as have windows me. Now my windows me is only using 67% of the hard drives potential and I tried using System Restore and then that failed. Now I can only restore to earlier today- it erased all my other restore points. Also, when I go to "c:\cpqs\quicksr\qrwin\winqrme.exe" the first part of it is missing- where you can mouse over to the "rubix" cube it should display available drivers to reinstall or restore it does not now. Somewhere this got deleted. After some research and reading I found out that the FDISK may be able to help. So reviewing what it's suppose to do within its MS-DOS window I deleted the partition and also the (D:) drive(funny thing though this drive has always been there so I am not sure if I got the right thing deleted). It seems that the FDISK succeeded in deleting the partition when I looked it over again but now I need a way to recover my lost hard disk space. It still has about 3-4GBs floating without being used. Can someone help me??? I need some advice on fixing these errors and trying to restore my computer to how it was before. I would like to recover my lost bytes of memory, get my restore in the above file to work properly again, and if someone has time help me to get my ethernet card working. Thanks to anyone who can help me.
