I am logging onto a domain, no errors show up in the event log on the domain.
I get these 2 events as a pair twice during log on. Of the 1 of the occurrances during logon is attributed to the "system" user and one to me "Mr M McHale" user.
I have taken note of and installed the update with Microsoft Knowledge Base Article - 329170 - No improvements.
SMB is still enabled on the server.
Thanks for your time

I had this same problem on a 2003 domain controller. In the network settings I changed the advanced Wins settings from the Default which is to get the settings from the DHCP server to Enable to Netbios over TCP/IP and rebooted. Also I changed the DNS settings from 127.0.0.1 to it's real address. None of which should have any effect, but it worked? I also rebooted all the domain controllers.
