Well, juanho,

There is a backup copy of boot.ini:

(C:\Windows\pss)
Check that out.

Unfortunately, I have no idea where NTLDR.DLL is located.

Good Luck. I used XP for this, but I will load VMWARE and check for myself. That will take a while so please be patient.

hi juanho
have your dual booting?
if you have then see your other os? who  was installed in primary.

please follow this
Right-click Start, and then click Explore.


On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click View.


In the Advanced Settings area, click to select the Show hidden files and folders check box, click to clear the Hide protected operation system files (Recommended) check box, click OK, and then click OK.


In the left pane, click to select the %systemroot%, right-click Boot.ini in the display pane, and then click Properties.


Click to clear the Read-only attribute check box, and then click OK.

Save a Backup Copy of Boot.ini
Right-click Start, and then click Explore.


In the left pane, click the %systemroot% drive, in the right pane, click the Boot.ini file, and then click Copy.


Open a temporary folder in the left pane, right-click in the right display pane, and then click Paste to create a copy of the Boot.ini file in that folder.

NTLDR has no extension (look in the root of your system drive after changing your view options to show system and hidden files).  Are you trying to find these files for a reason (fix something), or just looking?  Good luck.

Boot to setup cd, go to recovery console "type r at first screen" choose os to log on to and type fixboot c: and your on your way.

It will configure your os or os's to boot.

You may try fixboot first as I have used it after formating c: and losing all boot files, this worked.

However, not entirely sure of question,If that doesn't suit your needs try this;

Your answer are interesting.

Finaly i have a hradware problem. My HD are extraible and the box are incorrecly inserted. We change the box and the problem goes.
