Hourly WMP lockups

This is very strange. It only happens if I am watching movies (doesn't matter what file it is, it will always happen like clockwork.) I will be watching anime or a movie on my computer, and it will lock up for about 20 seconds. Exactly 1 hour later, it does it again. It will keep doing so every hour until I shut down WMP. I never see a lock up like this happen when I am not running WMP, but I will let my computer idle for a while and I won't be connected to the internet or running any program and my cpu monitor (the little red light on my case that tells me that the processor is processing things) will go ballistic for about 20 seconds or so, and it will calm back down. What is the cause of this? How do I fix it?
