After entering the cron jobs to rotate the logs in /var/adm and /var/log,we find that the main cause of the hang has been big dumps into the /var/tmp by certain processes.Can someone suggest the reasons as what causes such dumps into the /var/tmp area.Is it related to insufficient swap space causing disk writes by processes which subsequently abort

U may need to run syslogd( or equivalent ) daemon to log all systems messages, it ma yhelp u to discover source of problems on ur solaris machine!
