Server 2003 and IBM serveraid5i SCSI card

Hi There

Just a quick question

When trying to install Windows Server 2003 on an IBM xSeries 345 (with a serveraid5i card which has been fully configured in terms of hardware arrays etc) it gets to a stage saying no hard disks found - aborting

However I press F6 to specify a mass controller driver (driver from IBM) and voila it finds the disks!

I was under the impression that the serveraid card supports int13h calls and would not need a special SCSI driver?

The OS is now built and in the boot.ini the multi syntax is specified hence requiring no SCSI driver, and must be using 13h extensions to boot.

Infact I can load FDISK off a MSDOS boot floppy and it sees the partitions!

Any ideas?

Press F6 (or is it F8) to install the IBM provided SCSI driver during the install process.  .   No way around it.  I've worked with quite a few IBM sewrvers and that is the best way.  It should be on the CDROM that came with the machine.  It is easiest to copy it to a floppy on a working machine, then install it from floppy during install.
