Try uninstalling applicatoins and device drivers that you dont need. They can slow down the system. Then also get a SPYWARE tracer from the Internet. Spywares can slow down your system too much.
There is this little tool from Microsoft called bootvis that will speed up your boot process, download it, install it, run it - select optimize system..and things will probably be ok...

good luck
Question : Is the computer running slow after its completely booted up?
No, Its slow when Booting up,  I'll try the cach and the memtest then see what happen.

Thank You
bootvis -> run it, you won't regret it .... it won't hurt you to try... ;-)
Boot-up slow? You mean on the "Windows is loading" screen? Or actully when the OS has passed that? Before POST?

Gary.
>>>"I try recorvry it didn't help"
Was this the recovery disks from Sony or System restore from the OS?
If from sony did you use the reapiar option or the compleat restore to factory specifacations?
A corrupted video driver can and will cause an extremly slow boot.
It's the booting up that is slow, when its done booting through the system run fine. Just the booting up the system and recoverying from hibernation is slow.

can you list everything that is starting up?
Have you check out the Prefetch folder in C:\Windows.  Usually Windows will try to load the stuff inside this folder before loading your desktop.  If you have a lot of applications in here then it will take a much longer to get going.

This tool may help after you cleanup.

Windows XP Prefetch Clean And Control 1.2.0:

lavasoft adaware is one of those spyware scanners, it is decent and free

also, make sure you dont have 2 anti-virus programs installed sometimes that causes terrible boot

what os are you running?

Does it take a long time to boot if you boot into safe mode?

I Have window xp Home,  No it boots fine going to safe mode.

Thanks
