Download and install the latest nForce drivers:

For the GeForce video card, I would suggest the WHQL Certified drivers released earlier this month:

Try rolling back to default xp drivers. Before installing new drivers, be sure to remove the existing drivers from your system.
1) Go into your Control Panel
2) Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon
3) Select the NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers from the list of programs.
4) Click Change/Remove or Add/Remove button.
5) Confirm with Windows that you wish to continue with the uninstall
Note: A prompt appears asking whether you want to delete all of the saved
nView profiles.
If you click Yes, all of the nView software and all of your saved
profiles will be deleted.
If you click No, the nView software is removed, but the profile files
are saved in the Windows\nView directory on your hard disk. If you take advantage of the nView profiles, you may wish to keep your custom nView profiles.
Once the driver files have uninstalled, Windows will request that you restart your computer to complete the uninstallation
nope the motherbaord only says nvidia in places, it has a sticker inside saysing some stuff about emachines, programs can never mick up the type/model of my mobo. so i cant identfy it any more. i got an emachines 610, it dosent seem to be around though, the web site dont have my model on there BUT IT IS a 610, as the rubish stick on the front of the case says :(

I processed the minidump and the the failing reason is nvmcp.sys encounters NT status code 0xC0000092 (ie STATUS_FLOAT_STACK_CHECK) which is definitely a software error at nvmcp.sys.
How many times do you have this problem?
1) Download the latest device driver from nVidia Web. Sometimes the latest device driver may still have problem. You have to email nVidia Support to report your problem. The rule of thumb is the latest device driver does not work then fallback the device driver to a lower level until the problem is resolved
0xC0000092 EXCEPTION_FLOAT_STACK_CHEC
A floating point stack overflowed or underflow. This related to the baroque design of the floating point unit.
This is a java error. Your java app/plugin could be damaged or you may have spyware on your pc.
Error Nuker is a powerful utility that will scan the Windows Registry to identify 0xc0000092 java error errors and ways to optimize the performance of the Windows Registry. Unlike other similar tools, Error Nuker is very careful with the registry — it never deletes a registry entry if this could harm your system.

Bingo... Same specs here, except not an Emachine. I wonder if you could just get doesn the clock on that one. Probably going down to the BIOS advanced options and making sure the clock mutliplier is 10 and not more. I need to to cool mine my putting it in front of the AC for it to take the clocking of 11x. Otherwise, all kinda errors.
allllec only provides two minidumps. The last dump was taken on 23th Nov 2004 and the first dump is on 27June 2004. From the dump, I find out the major change is display card. The first dump showed that the failing module is ati2mtag.sys which I believe it is the Ati Radeon 9800SE
display card. At the second dump, I cannot find ati2mtag.sys and I find nv4_disp which is the nVidia GE Display Card. The compilation date of nvmcp.sys of both dumps is different hence I can confirm that nvmcp.sys is upgraded and the compilation date is "May 26 2004".

I search google and there have one similar hit. Unfortunately it is not an English Web Page.

The timestamp of nvmcp.sys is the same. Fortunately you are not the first person in the world hits this problem. It must be the software problem at nVidia Driver
thanks everyone, overwhelming respons thats for all your help,
this happens randomly it seems nothing is ever the same that i notice eg...
2 times in 10 mins, no times in a whole week :S
as for the ati thing, i tryed once to install a 9200SE, i THOUGHT i had used nasty file remover to get rid of all ati stuff but apparently not, i will re-run it and make surre all ati related stuff is gone...
sorry its a wating game for the time being while i see if i get another bsod,
sorry
You can make sure that your system is on the windows hardware compatability list,by inserting your winxp cd and selecting check my system for compatability on the autorun screen,or by going to:
http://www.activewin.com/w
Did you uninstall ATI display card and install nVidia Display Card? After you installed the new display card, the BSOD occurs? If yes, it seems that the uninstallation of ATI did not remove all the ATI drivers or ATI installtion embedded into some windows modules. The uninstallation of ATI did not remove the changed windows modules. If it is the case, you need to re-install windows and install the nVidia Driver.
I've processed the latest minidump and it is exactly the same problem. If you don't do any change, the BSOD problem will not resolve

I searched google and I find another hit relating to nvmcp.sys, but the webpage is not English
http://www.alchemicdream.c
Driver Nforce2 4.27 version 3.13
Another hit is bugcheck 0A at nvmcp.sys

I find 3 hits for this problem so your problem must relate to Nvidia device driver problem. The latest driver is 9 November 2004 and your display card driver is 26 May 2004 which is almost half year behind. Upgrade the latest nVidia Display Card.
You can use add/remove software to de-install display card driver if you encounter more serious problem after upgrading the device card driver.
right this is how to do it jimmeh

I'm a little fuzzy on this - did you try updating your nvidia drivers?
