issues related to installing Office 2K3 on Windows 2K3 server?

Hi- we have Windows 2003 server, and when we try to install office 2003 on it, it locks at the installation wizard window. We have tried two different cd drives, and also copied all the files over to the HD and tried to install from there. It reads the files, begins the installation, then gets to the "installation wizard" and locks there.

Anyone seen or heard of any issues installing Office 2003 on Micrisft server 2003? We have successfully installed the developer version of Coldfusion MX7 on this server, as well as IISv6 and Active Directory. We're trying to get Microsoft access 2003 on there.
Thanks,

I've installed office on w2k3 servers without problems. How does the system lockup? Do you need a reboot?

if you leave it sit long enough, it says "Windows Installer is no longer responding". Seems like the windows installer is hooped, but it installed coldfusion ok.
is the OS of the 2003 server fully patched?  there was a new installer that was part of a patch not too long ago i belive.  the new version might be required.
Have you tried rebooting the server *before* attempting to install Office?  Also after you reboot you could try going to Add/Remove from the control panel.  This would address any issues with Terminal Services that could be causing you trouble.

Thanks, everyone- we figured out that the issue came from that server being the third domain controller on the network. Once we pulled it off the network, it works. Thanks for your time, don't think I can award the points to anyone...
I'm not sure I follow how a "third DC on the network" could have caused this.  Unless you were using an account that was not a Domain Administrator.
No problem with PAQ/Refund, but we would like to know more as to why a 3rd DC would be causing this?
Yeah PAQ/Refund it.  It's likely a permissions issue with the installer account. It would be nice to know...

Hi, all, Sorry, I took a day off.. the machine was setup the same as an existing server, when it was plugged into the network it caused authentication issues, because it saw 2 identical machines. Once the server was removed from the domain, not only did authentication speed up on our PDC and BDC, but it allowed office to be installed on the test server.....
Really too long to explain, but that's the jist of it...

Thanks again,
Thanks, not too long to explain, it clears up things.
