Oddly enough removing the Novell Client we had on it fixed the problem
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsFor some reason my Windows 2003 server can't access it's own C$ if you use the FQDN. For example if I try to run the following from the its own self:
\\server.domaina.domain.ro
I get an access error. I can access its own regular shares fine and I can access the C$ if I just use \\server\c$ but if I try to use the FQDN it does not work. The problem is that the application I am using is trying to install uses the FQDN to set up the program. Thanks.

Hi Kriggins14,
Did you check if your FQDN resolves appropriately to the server's IP address? (test it from a command prompt on the server).
If no, then make sure the FQDN is registered in the DNS server properly. Try performing the nslookup on ur primary DNS server (the same one the server's network interface is using).
