You very likely have the HOSTRAID controller in that machine. This is not a TRUE RAID controller. If you have the drives configured in a 'RAID' array, you'll have to break the array before installing the OS.

Browse All TopicsI am currently attempting to install RedHat 7.3 on a PowerEdge Dell SC1425 with Ultra 320 SCSI 39320 HD's/ controller. No luck at all! Sure I'd use Enterprise or even 9.0 but the software requred that will run on this server has only been tested stable for 7.3. Blah! No HostRaid arrays are created, and I created a driver disk image w/ aic79xx-VERSION-i686-rh73.
