I want to set up synchronization for a users home folder, so that when they log off/on it copies/synchronizes.
However, there does not appear to be an "Offline Files" tab when I look at the tools or properties of any folder on the pc. Is there something central that needs to be switched on for this tab to appear ?
thanks,
Paul

If you are on a network with domain controllers (servers), the domain administrators can turn this tab off so it is not visible. We did this where I work because users kept trying to synchronize folders with more data that their hard would hold and their PCs locked up.
You might speak to the network admins if you are not one. If you are, you can control this through Active Directory. (if you need details, just ask).
Sorry this took so long. We had a problem with Active Directory that blocked me from "getting the exact" wording for you.
1.) Open Active Directory Users and Computers
2.) Right Click on your domain object and select properties
3.) Double-click on your "Default Domain Policy"
4.) Open Computer Configuration-->Administra
5.) Check to see if "Prohibit user configuration of Offile Files," "Remove 'Make Available Offline',or " Prevent use of Offline Files folder" are set.
6.) Open User Configuration-->Administra

Go into Control Panel and Double Click Folder options. Goto the Offline Files Tab and put a check in Enable Offline Files. Let me know if this doesn't work =)
